Academic excellence rooted in faith.

Preparing Students to Succeed

Our Middle School holds high academic standards while also focusing on strong character building to prepare students to excel in high school and beyond. We achieve these goals through direct teaching, hands-on projects, and our Intensives program.

Challenging courses build skills, critical thinking, and confidence. Students also learn to serve others, achieve goals, and succeed together. Well-managed classrooms create mutual respect and consideration for others.

Experiential Learning

Our Intensives program allows us to set aside a block of days twice a year to explore locations in Alaska. Through outdoor experiences and activities with experts in their fields, students learn about Alaska’s environment and history while building a love for the outdoors.

Orthodox Christian faith and values are woven into the daily routine. We begin each day with prayers in St. John Orthodox Cathedral, where the students enjoy singing. Middle School students are also responsible for reading a short passage aloud each day.

“St. John’s middle school students are academically well-prepared and demonstrate strong moral character and a strong work ethic.”
